Market Thymes Newsletter - August 31, 2013
A new vendor for you the check out this week. The iconic Heppell Brothers Farms from the Cloverdale area has opened a new division producing hand-made, no preservative, all natural potato chips. They currently offer 6 flavours including All Natural (plain) for us traditionalists. These chips are processed and packaged here in the Fraser Valley.
Also excited to have Trish back with Jam ‘n Music for one of her all-too infrequent visits to Abbotsford. She should have a supply of her award winning Raspberry jam in the booth.
Music this week is by Rumi. Many of our customers enjoy the mellow South American inspired arrangements of some classic music played on his selection of flutes, pan pipes and other woodwinds. This is a truly unique entertainer
Also take a minute to enter the monthly draw. For two more weeks were collecting entries by minimum $1.00 donation to the Abbotsford Food Bank. Prize includes a Weber portable barbeque from Blackwood Home Hardware. Ask at the market info booth for more details.
It’s our 10th birthday but
we’re giving away the gifts.
For every $10 you spend at the
Abbotsford Farm & Country Market
through October 12th you will receive an entry form to win a super pack full of products from our vendors.

Meanwhile, cook the green beans with the remaining 1/4 teaspoon of salt in boiling water until tender, about 4 minutes. Transfer to a bowl of ice water. Drain and pat dry. Transfer to a serving bowl, toss with the onion mixture, and sprinkle with the zest.
Fall Season to Kick Off with Octoberfest
Our "official" outdoor summer season concludes on October 12th. But we're not going anywhere.
The Fall and Winter season starts the very next Saturday and will include weekly markets all the way until Christmas.
To get the new market fall/winter season off on the right foot we are planning an Octoberfest celebration for October 19th. Watch for details as we work through planning that event.
