Market Thymes Newsletter - August 14, 2013


 Market Highlights


One new vendor participating in the market this Wednesday. An Eye Full Creations makes unique home and garden décor items from hard-shell gourds and textiles.

Two interesting vendors return to the Wednesday evening market. Clayburn Comforts Soap and Body Works sells natural body care products. Plus Sue lives and works in historic Clayburn Village and can tell you about some things to see and do in the community.

Valley Gold Honey is our local honey producer and brings a selection of products from their own hives.

WildSafe BC and BearAware are in the market this week to talk about how to co-exist with wildlife.

The dynamic and entertaining Willie and the Other Guy provide the live music this week.

Baked Broccoli


  • Preheat oven to 375°,
  • Chop a head of broccoli (do not rinse!),
  • Mince 2-3 cloves of garlic,
  • Put broccoli, garlic, 2 tbsp. olive oil, and a few shakes of salt and pepper in a ziploc bag. Shake it up,
  • Spread the broccoli pieces out on a baking sheet (lined with foil is O.K.), place on top rack and bake for 30 minutes.


It will come out crunchy and delicious.
Broccoli will be crunchy and delicious! I make this at least 3 times a week and have to control myself once I take it out of the oven, I could eat this alone for dinner!
