Golden Ears Cheesecrafters is the Fraser Valley's newest family run Artisan Cheese facility. Located in Maple Ridge, they handcraft natural cheeses and butter using fresh Jersey cow milk from their family dairy right next door. This brand new facility was started in 2011 by Kerry and Lynn Davison and is being run by their two daughters, Jenna and Emma. Both girls have a strong passion for food.
Jenna, with a back ground in horticulture and agriculture, decided to pursue an apprenticeship under a well-known cheese-maker in Agassiz. She quickly fell in love with the intricacies of the cheese-making process and the physical demands of the work involved. While Jenna runs the production side, her sister Emma also has her work cut out for her.
Emma studied business at the University of the Fraser Valley and took her Dairy Processing Certification at BCIT along with Jenna. Emma's education in business infused with her strong passion for local food led her to run the marketing and retail side of Golden Ears Cheesecrafters.
Their goal together is to use their creativity to produce cheeses inspired by local products, and to encourage others to eat locally produced foods.
